Quickly and easily paint an unfinished wooden grill cart by using the Wagner FLEXiO 3000 to apply a super smooth finish without brush marks.

Grill Cart Makeover

Quickly and easily paint an unfinished wooden grill cart by using the Wagner FLEXiO 3000.

DIFFICULTY: Beginner

Overview

Every grill needs a space to store some charcoal, a lighter, and all of your other grilling tools! Here’s a creative (and simple) solution for your backyard that will add function and beauty!

1

Set up sprayer

The FLEXiO 3000 is the perfect sprayer for this job. It’s lightweight and easy to use, and the new and improved spray pattern of the FLEXiO line allows for even less mess and overspray than before. The iSpray Nozzle is a great option for larger furniture pieces like this, but if you want even more control, reach for the Detail Finish Nozzle!

Adjust your settings and test your spray pattern, then you’re ready to paint.

Spray

For this project, we took a potting bench and gave it a new life as a grill cart. Thinking outside the box is a great way to solve storage problems in your backyard - the closed cabinet is perfect for storing charcoal, there’s a drawer for the lighter and any other tools that need protection from the elements, and the hooks on the end can hold all of your grilling tools!

Add life

Be sure to note if the furniture you’re painting has a finish on it already - if it does, you may need to sand it prior to painting to be sure it is ready to accept a new coat of paint.

Taking a plain piece of unfinished furniture and giving it a coat of paint is a great way to add a little life to your home. This potting bench looks like a custom piece of furniture with the new finish - and all it took was a quart of paint and less than an hour of painting time.

Enjoy!

If you have any furniture in your home (inside or outside) that is feeling lifeless or just doesn’t stand out the way you’d like it to, consider a quick coat of paint with your Wagner sprayer. It’s an easy way to completely transform just about anything!
