Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish it would work better as advertised I tried using it a dozen times or so with my chalk type paints. It seems to me you have to water down paint so it would spray for one. Which makes using chalk paint less effective in my opinion. I love chalk paint as it's thick, and fills in scratches etc on whatever your painting. So needing to water down to use the sprayer defeats the purpose of chalk paint! I played with the adjustable nozzle trying to get a good finish. I tried to love it but just kept clogging, or splattered finish. I've cleaned it properly, and made sure to follow steps. Not happy....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am a do-it yourself craft kind of girl I purchased the sprayer 2 weeks ago and painted 20 kitchen doors in less than 1 hour... They really look great. I will never paint furniture or cabinets with a paint brush or a roller again. OMG LOVE this product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The wagner home decor sprayer I do upholstery and paint furniture. I wanted a way to get rid of the brush strokes. I practiced a bit before I used my sprayer. I had to water down the paint to get the coverage I wanted. I sprayed two coats on my antique sofa and I loved how it looked. It was also a time saver. I am looking forward to using the sprayer on all my chalk painting project. Thank you for making a wonderful sprayer at an affordable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! I used this sprayer to apply interior satin paint to 10 full size doors and 30 kitchen cabinet doors. The finish was nice and smooth. You DO have to play around with the settings and practice your painting technique before starting. I had great fun with this unit and thought it was well worth the price paid for it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inexpensive sprayer to get started without having to purchase other items. I have used the Wagner Home Decor sprayer several times and love the time saving it provides, as well as the even coat when using a topcoat. I have discovered a lot less clogging issues when I strain the product before adding it to the fill cup. Cleaning all parts very well between uses is essential to keeping it working.

I just bought this and the manual for set up states "attach the thinning accessory to the side of the container". It shows a diagram which I can't even understand! Went to the video to find out and no accessory is used!

Asked by: GFunnell
I'll give you that the thinning accessory may not be the easiest to understand at first, but it gets easier after you use it a couple of times. In the meantime, to get you started. If you are spraying latex paint, you may need to thin about 20% with water, if it's chalk paint, up to 40% is acceptable according to the paint manufacturer. Stains and polyurethane may not need thinning at all. You are always welcome to contact technical support to discuss the use and preparation for the material you want to spray and the project you want to complete. We can be reached at 800-328-8251 six days a week. Good luck with your project.

Which sprayer would be best for indoor painting such as walls, ceilings, and kitchen cabinets? I also have some craft projects that I would like to paint such as china cabinets etc so I would like a versatile sprayer.

Asked by: Tuggy
We suggest an HVLP system like our Flexio line. For instance, the Flexio 590, 690 and 890 all come with the iSpray front end for general purpose spraying and the detail front end for fine finishing. The difference between the three is the physical configuration. The 590 is handheld, the 690 separates the turbine blower from the gun as does the 890 but with a hard shell case for storage. Feel free to contact us at 800-328-8251 with more questions.

This might be a silly question, but this is my first time painting. I am using a water based paint. Does this need thinning when using the home decor paint sprayer?

Asked by: First time painter
Yes, for latex paint you should thin about 10-20% with water.

The craft sprayer is spraying paint without pulling the trigger. I adjusted the flow to the lowest setting, but that didn't correct the problem. I had to keep shutting it off to change positions, then restart.

Asked by: Teresa
Sorry to hear about your troubles but if the paint constantly comes out of the gun without pulling the trigger that is normally a sign that the locking collar or some piece of the front of the sprayer is loose. Make sure all the pieces are there and that the collar is hand tight. If this still doesn't solve your issue please contact our technical support team and they can determine if the unit needs more troubleshooting or if something needs to be replaced under the 1 year warranty that the unit with at the point of purchase, they can be reached at 1(800)328-8251.

I cannot get a smooth finish with this sprayer. I feel like I have tried everything and continue to get an orange peel texture. Please advise on how to get a smooth texture, I am using Rustoleum Chalk Paint. Thank you!

Asked by: Ambielyn99
Chalk paint usually requires at least 20% thinning and Rustoleum's material can be on the thicker side so it may require more than that to get a smooth finish. Please contact our technical support staff at 1(800)328-8251 if you have any other questions or needs.

Can you paint walls and ceilings with the Home Decor spray painter?

Asked by: Returner
The Home Decor sprayer is intended for craft type projects. To paint your house you should look at our Flexio line of HVLP. The Flexio 690, for instance, gives you twice the power and capacity of the Home Decor. You can always contact technical support for an in depth discussion at 800-328-8251.
