How to Paint and Stencil Halloween Pumpkins
Add a creative twist to your Halloween pumpkins by applying a painted stencil pattern.
Overview
Visit your local pumpkin patch and create a spectacular autumn themed centerpiece for your porch stairs or dining table. Add a creative stencil pattern to take your pumpkin decorating design to the next level!
Stenciling your autumn or Halloween pumpkin is not only practical, it's also easy and fun. Uncut, your pumpkin will last months; or you can use it at Thanksgiving to make a yummy pumpkin meringue!
Find a stencil and place on pumpkin
Place a mylar stencil on the pumpkin using tacks or blue painter's tape.
You can find a wide variety of different stencil patterns at your local craft store. Bring your kids along and let them choose a stencil pattern they love to really make the pumpkin unique!

Spray over stencil
Spray over the stencil with paint loaded in a Wagner FLEXiO 5000 paint sprayer. With the Detail Finish nozzle, the FLEXiO 5000 applies a precise spray pattern, which is perfect for small detail work with stencils.
If your pumpkin is going to be outside and exposed to the elements then we recommend using an exterior paint that will be able to withstand cold October weather.

Remove stencil
Remove the stencil to show the graphic design.

Have fun with your Halloween festivities
Enjoy your unique pumpkin decoration...and enjoy Halloween!
