Flexio 590 Sprayer is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 113.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great with Ben Moore Advance! I bought this sprayer to refinish 35 painted cabinet faces in a large kitchen remodel. I already owned an HVLP sprayer that I was not happy with from another manufacturer. My intent was to use the Ben Moore water based Advance enamel, a product that I have had very good luck with in this type of project. Before unpacking my new sprayer I checked in with the help line at both Ben Moore and at Wagner. Ben Moore advised only to thin if absolutely necessary with water and then no more than 8 ounces per gallon. Wagner advised to set the blower up to full speed at 8. I then set out on my project. After a bit of trial and error I would like to share what I learned and how I obtained very good results with both the sprayer and the paint product. I fully diluted the paint with water as advised by Ben Moore and set the sprayer as advised by Wagner. I did all of my spraying with the door faces horizontal to avoid sagging. First of all, if you have never sprayed before you need to follow the instructions in the Wagner instructions about moving the sprayer evenly across the work. There are a couple of additional things that you need to consider. You need to start the sprayer off the work until the blower is up to speed otherwise the first spray out the sprayer spatters because the air is not up to the proper pressure. You can actually see this when you first hit the trigger. Keep the trigger down as you pass the sprayer back and forth across the work and you will avoid most spatters. Next, since the sprayer is only putting out a fine mist of paint you need to move the sprayer very slowly across the work in order to build up enough paint so that it levels as it dries. In the case of the Advance paint it means putting on a bunch of paint and you will be rewarded with a very smooth surface when it dries. It will not look smooth at first, actually a little bad, but give it forty five minutes to dry and the finish comes out very nice. Also note that I used the fine finish tip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small Jobs Use I bought this two years ago to paint my fence and did a great job. 150' x 2 sides x 6' high. I used it for two coats. The down sides. 1. Based on the description "suitable for large fence" I bought it. I had to constantly stop and refill the container. 2. The cleanup takes a long time, especially around the nozzle area

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive I stained and top coated the log home I'm building. The only issue was me learning the proper assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great muti tasking paint sprayer We bought this paint sprayer for use with re staining concrete water fountains at our Nursery garden center. Twenty-four fountains later and still operates like new. Great for painting fences, stucco walls. Best thing about this kit is the two spray heads. The smaller size is great for smaller painting with finer nozzle control, while the larger head paints large surfaces quickly. Easy to clean and stores neatly in its heavy duty plastic case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this thing! Becoming a homeowner brought on a ton of new projects, many of which required painting. I got this with the hope of painting 38 cabinet doors fairly quickly. (Did them all in about 1hr total touch time) A few things stood out. 1. It's surprisingly simple to use. A chart is provided to help navigate different settings for different materials. Assembly is a breeze. Cleaning is much less obnoxious than straining brushes and rollers. 2. The coverage is fantastic. Painting the cabinets with one coat only used up about 1qt. 3. After spraying the paint appeared to slightly orange peel, but it dried perfectly smooth. I'd read a few reviews about the orange peel, but I didn't experience it. 4. The only real knock I have is that the front end seems to get really warm, which makes me feel like I may be overdoing it. All in all, love the gun and would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from spraying vinyl siding Did the first coat. was pretty impressed. Started the second coat about 40 minutes later. Wasn't spraying like it was before. Soaked the nozzle pieces in a bucket of soapy hot water. Gave them a little scrub, sprayed some hot soapy water thru the device and it was working good as new again. I'm very satisfied with this product. Just have to keep it clean. Not let the paint dry and its a good device.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbine failed after one use. The nozzle of the detail attachment allowed paint to trickle back into the motor assembly; once this was noticed the nozzle was tightened. Sadly the turbine failed after 20 seconds the next time I took the sprayer out to use.

How does the little sprayer work? I don’t see a cord on it to plug in . I’m interested in purchasing this product just curious on small sprayer operation. Thanks John

Asked by: Elitetrooper523
The Flexio 590 does have a power cord that plugs into 120volt outlet. It works well depending on your project. You can find more information and watch some video's at this link, https://www.wagnerspraytech.com/products/paint-sprayers/flexio-590-paint-sprayer/. Hi , what is sound level of this when it is running? Had a old school power painter and the noise of that clapper piston was awful.

Asked by: doug1966
The Flexio 590 is much quieter than our power painters. Check out the video's at this link, https://www.wagnerspraytech.com/products/paint-sprayers/flexio-590-paint-sprayer/. If you have further questions feel free to call us at 1-800-328-8251.

I bought the Flexio 590 and I primarily spray interior latex paints through it. I have noticed that during spraying it has a tendency to start really splattering the paint and some of the paint tends to form a streamer coming out of the nozzle

Asked by: furntiure guy
The answer to this issue depends on which front end or nozzle you are using. If you are using the iSpray front end or nozzle it may be as simple as a little dried paint on the end of the air cap or nozzle end. It could also be caused by the black retaining ring being a little loose. If you would like to discuss this feel free to call us at 1-800-328-8251.

I just purchased the Wagner PaintReady Station, can I use a 1 gallon or 5 gallon paintto spray exterior of house?

Hi, i am looking at this gun to paint some furniture, the paint i am using says i need an airless sprayer with a nozzle between 0.13" - 0.17" and a 60 mesh filter, its an Alkyd Enamel paint. thanks, Scott

Asked by: Stumpy
When paint manufacturers say that, they are talking about an airless, high pressure (3000 psi) sprayer. The Flexio 570 is an HVLP unit (High Volume Low Pressure, 3 psi) that uses lots of air. If you are painting a wall then use the iSpray front end, unthinned paint and spray from about 8-10" away. If you are painting your furniture, use the detail front end, thin the paint 5-10%, add some flow agent and spray from about 6" away. How much overspray do you have using oil based paint with the 590 flexing sprayer?

Asked by: Robbie1
If you were spraying with an air compressor set up you would have about 40% overspray. Meaning 40% of everything you spray out of the gun will not land on the project. With the Flexio 590 that number is about 10%. It's much less overspray, but there is still some that should be taken into consideration before spraying. can this sprayer be used for oil base stain. I have a log home and need to stain the exterior ....Flexio 590

Asked by: Tileguy
The Flexio 590 is perfect for an oil based exterior staining project. The included iSpray nozzle will move a lot of stain quickly for large areas and for more control switch to the included detail nozzle. Good luck with your projects! My 590 was working great, but at the end of the last session it started dripping from where the trigger meets the nozzle housing. I cleaned it thoroughly and tried it again but it immediately started leaking from the same place. How can I fix that? TIA!

Asked by: MarkDallas
The 590 is a hard working tool for sure. It sounds like the nozzle seal wasn't installed in the gun after it was cleaned last. Take a look in the owner's manual to identify the nozzle seal to confirm that it is in place. If you need more assistance you can contact technical support at 800-328-8251.
