Flexio 590 Sprayer is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 103.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Diappointed Had purchase the 590 back in 2014, to spray a large deck. Was satisfied at the time. Summer of 2017, started to spray the house and the turbine/blower stops. I would think that this product should have a longer life then approx. 4 hours of use. This item was only take out of it's case 3 times since new. I have to say that overall this was easy to use and clean. I always strained the paint & stain used, and the spray pattern was good. Now I am forced to purchase a new sprayer. Although this this sprayer is not overly expensive, I guess you get what pay for. Just disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didnt read enough reviews I purchased this gun Sunday 6/11/2017 and tried it out because i needed to paint my siding and it had good reviews... should have read more of the bad ones because now the front of my house looks like stucco. Sprayer has an inconsistent pattern and sputters quite a bit on mid grade acrylic exterior paint. i was recommended by a painter friend to run water through it to see if maybe the paint was too thick. and the water came out better but still sputtery and inconsistent so i tried changing settings and not setting ever helped. the manual says to use higher settings for thicker material and so i was on 8 speed and going up but nothing helped, it just slung paint like it was spitting it out it was not the fine mist i was hoping for. Not my first rodeo with paint sprayers but my last with Wagner products

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works as advertised I bought this on may 6, 2017 with the intention of treating my ceder fence around my pool. the sprayer was easy to set up and use. clean-up was simple. The instruction manual is easily understood. I discovered quickly that I only had to use the lowest flow setting to get the amount of flow that I desired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Customer for life, great product and incredible support I am the Service Manager for an office equipment company, So I am very familiar with customer service, below is my story. I purchased a home a few weeks ago, it needed some minor work and some painting. It was a brick home so just the trim needed to be done. So, I packed up my Wagner sprayer and went to the house to paint it. Let me tell you the product was amazing. I finished the job in probably a quarter of the time I could have done it with a brush and roller. Not one hiccup during the whole job, just fill the container and spray away. While cleaning it, I wasn’t pay as much attention as I should have been and when I turned the main unit on to the paint container part, it broke the flow adjustment piston (little black piece that has controls how thick the flow of paint is). So being a technician at heart I start looking through my manual for a part number to order it so I can repair it. No parts for the main unit were shown. So, I start searching the internet and still can’t find a part number to order this little plastic piece that I had broken. Still no luck. I then contact Wagner to see if they can tell me the part number so I can order it. They then reply to me telling me they are going to send me the new main unit. I am shocked. This device was purchased a little over a year ago for me for Christmas and I was afraid I was going to have to buy a whole new unit. About a week later I receive a box, open it up and they sent me a whole new sprayer with all the attachments just like the one I got originally for Christmas. It was like Christmas 2.0. So through no fault of theirs, I accidentally broke my sprayer and they replaced it with almost no questions asked. I cannot say enough good things about the product and especially about the customer service that I received. It is far too rare today that we find a company that has a great product and outstanding support. Wagner is that company. Wagner, you have gained a customer for life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inconsistent, Messy, Inconvenient, and Wastes Paint I purchased the 590 with the intent of achieving a fine spray finish on custom cabinets I built for my home office. But, after perfecting many miter cuts and sanding my cabinets to perfection the 590 ruined my cabinet finish. I read the instructions, purchased compatible paint, adjusted the flow and volume, and practiced on cardboard but halfway through the first coat it started spraying globs of paint, which I had to go back over with a fine roller. Also, I had to strip down and clean the gun between coats, which is very messy and time consuming. I attempted the final coat and again halfway thru it started to spray globs of paint. My purpose for using the 590 was to achieve a fine spray finish, but I wound up having to use a roller anyway and achieved your typical finish. This product might be good for an outdoor project where you are only trying to slop on paint, but I would not recommend it for a professional finish. I would save yourself time and money and just use a good old roller and pan. In summary, the 590 as a complete waste of time and money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good sprayer but requires fair amount of on-the-job maintenance Had to re-stain fairly large deck with overhead trellis -- LOTS of 1x1s on the overhead trellis -- and figured a sprayer was only way to go so I took the plunge and bought a Flexio 590, my first paint sprayer. Stain was a latex based "solid stain" that's pretty thick. Read the manual before starting, used iSpray nozzle with pressure and material flow settings as specified in manual and started out on the practice template provided. Soon had globs of paint spitting all over and paint leaking out of nozzle even when I released trigger. Figured I had bought a piece of junk and went to clean it before returning it. Found that locking nut was not tight and thought that might have been cause of my problems. So thoroughly cleaned it all up, made sure all was tight and tried it again. This time it worked as advertised, but had to play around with pressure and flow settings -- finally going with high pressure and low material flow settings. Next problem was that nozzle would clog after just 1 - 2 fillings of plastic paint reservoir, and once the nozzle was clogged the only way to fix/prevent spitting and globbing of paint spray was to remove and clean the nozzle and to do that every time I refilled the paint container. I became pretty proficient at removing, cleaning and reinstalling the nozzle after doing it about 20 times, but there must be a better way! Overall, the 590 certainly saved me a ton of time vs a brush/roller/pad, even with constant cleaning of nozzle, but it was more than a little frustrating.

Is this product good for spraying a celing with oil based kilz primer?  Would it need to be thinned?

Asked by: Naee
The Flexio 590 cannot be tilted upwards at more than a 45 degree angle or paint could run back into the motor and burn it out. It should spray oil base Kilz as long as the clean up is mineral spirits. You may want to add Penetrol which is an oil base paint conditioner which will help it flow smoother. If you would like to call us at 1-800-328-8251 we will assist you.

Is the Flexio 590 good for furniture painting?  Where do you purchase the paint products? You would only need small amounts for furniture and small items. Is 590 good for the range from indoor/outdoor walls to small furniture and cabinets?

Asked by: Mike56
The Flexio 590 comes with the both the iSpray front end, for larger projects like walls, fences and decks that will deliver a roller like finish, and the Detail Finish front end, for smaller detail work you want a more smoother finish like for cabinets, chairs and other furniture. With these included front ends, the Flexio 590 is very versatile and is able to tackle projects of all shapes and sizes. Also, with it utilizing HVLP(high volume low pressure) technology there is less overspray produced than traditional airless sprayers. As a result, this unit is recommended for both interior and exterior use. If you have any other questions or needs please call technical support at 1(800)328-8251.

thinning accessory and instructions

The instruction manual says that the Flexio590 comes with a thinning accessory and instruction sheet. I don't have those in my newly purchase sprayer kit. Is there any available references for a sprayer beginner that would help me in the thinning of latex paint to use with the Detail nozzle?
Asked by: Carieanne
I have emailed you the thinning accessory instructions along with some general thinning instructions. When spraying latex paint through the Detail nozzle you can thin it 10-20% with water. If you are looking for a fine finish, such as on furniture, cabinetry or trim, you should also add Floetrol to the recommended amount, about 2 oz. per quart of paint. Floetrol is not a thinner, it’s an extender which helps the latex level out and lay down on the project. These are general numbers and can be modified to achieve your goal, depending on your situation. Temperature, humidity, speed of application, and distance from the project all have an effect on these numbers. If you have never sprayed before we would encourage you to try spraying with just water first. Please feel free to call us at 1-800-328-8251 and we would be happy to assist you.

PSI Specs for the Flexio 590

The high build primer I want to spray requires an airless sprayer rated at 2500-3200 PSI. Is this unit capable of these specifications? It doesn't state this information in the manual.
Asked by: Danielson
The Flexio line are HVLP sprayers, they are not airless, they use a lot of air. They operate at about 4psi. Our Titan XT line of airless sprayers can meet those specs. Contact tech support for more details 800-328-8251.
