How to Waterproof Boots
Waterproofing boots with beeswax is a simple and cost-effective way to give your leather boots a great waterproofing layer to keep your feet dry no matter the weather. Check out how easy this is to do by following the simple steps below.
*Please note that this can change the color of your boots, especially if your boots are rough leather like ours were. These are just very old work boots though and we knew it may change the color of the boots but wanted them to be waterproof. Find more information about this and details about how to do this on my blog.
Clean your boots off.
Place Beeswax into a microwave-safe bowl and melt it in the microwave.
Apply beeswax to boots
Use a clean toothbrush to apply the beeswax to your leather boots.
Use heat gun to melt apply wax into the leather of boot
Use a Wagner HT400 Heat Gun to heat the wax up. You will see it melt into the boot pretty quickly. Use a paper towel to wipe up any excess or drips.
