Painting Garage Shelving
Learn how to paint, update, and protect your metal garage shelving using a FLEXiO paint sprayer to apply a quick, smooth finish.
Overview
Meg from Green With Decor used our FLEXiO 3000 paint sprayer to give old garage shelving a new look!
Shelves before
Here’s a look at the original shelving pieces.

Clean
Clean your shelving pieces.

Prepare paint and sprayer
Stir your paint. Pour it into the sprayer’s paint cup.
Put your paint sprayer together, using the detail nozzle.

Select sprayer setting
Set your paint sprayer settings based on the paint material you’re using, how thin your paint is and the direction in which you’ll be painting.

Paint
Keep the sprayer about 6-8 inches from your shelving, and keep moving as you paint. Move your wrist with the sprayer, don’t just flick your wrist to ensure you get even paint coverage.

Spray two coats
Do two full coats of paint on the fonts, backs and sides of the shelving pieces.
Clean your paint sprayer.

Reassemble shelves
After the paint has dried, put everything together.
The shelving unit looks great with fresh paint!
