Fall Shed Makeover

Learn how to quickly paint an outdoor shed to match your fence by using a Wagner paint sprayer to quickly apply a smooth finish without brush marks.

DIFFICULTY: Intermediate

Overview

Here’s one of my favorite before and after project. It just goes to show how a little paint and a paint sprayer can make a big difference. This is our garden shed tucked in the corner of the backyard. Here's another picture I took of the shed. This view shows how the shed fits into the back yard.

We also just finished painting the fence since this picture. You can see that here. But in sad news? Somehow, someway, the white fence made the garden shed EVEN BROWNER. So of course, we painted the shed. And now? It looks LIKE THIS. Here's the after.

Use your sprayer to make it easy!

I seriously cannot get enough of the before and after on this tiny house that is LIVING LARGE.

After we painted it, I totally forgot about how the before looked until I went back and looked at the photos. In happy news, it was so much easier to paint than we thought it would be.

Because we had this: the Wagner FLEXiO 3000 paint sprayer

Scrub and Paint

We painted the shed (and the roof) in a day. Before we painted the shed we scrubbed it thoroughly. And then? It was time to paint.

One of my favorite things about the Wagner FLEXiO 3000 paint sprayer is the control adjustments. It lets you easily adjust the amount of spray that comes out of the sprayer at any one time.

You can start with it adjusted to zero and then turn it up depending on the amount of spray that you need. You can also adjust whether you want the spray to come out vertically or horizontally by turning the dial on the front of the sprayer. It's so easy to use, too. You just fill up the container with paint and screw it into the paint sprayer. No messy tubes or trying to connect with paint cans. Just add paint and go.

Marvel at your new favorite fall space!

We used exterior paint from Sherwin-Williams to paint the garden shed. It's Sherwin-Williams Emerald Exterior Acrylic Latex paint and the color is SW 7006 Extra White.

The best part? Because of the paint and the coverage from the sprayer, we just used one coat of paint on the garden shed. I seriously cannot say enough wonderful things about the Wagner FLEXiO 3000 paint sprayer.

And now? The backyard is happy. The garden shed is finished. That was a serious makeover with a little paint that turned out so much cuter than I even imagined. Here’s to amazing before and after’s everywhere.
