Caned Bench Makeover

Reclaim a vintage caned bench with a fresh coat of paint. Apply it using a Wagner sprayer for a gorgeous finish!

DIFFICULTY: Beginner

HOW TO PAINT A CANED BENCH

Sometimes a dated piece of furniture only needs a new paint color to make it fresher and more relevant to today's style. This caned bench which would be hard to paint is a cinch to re-do using the Wagner sprayer. Lay a drop cloth outside and prep your piece for a makeover. Begin by wiping piece thoroughly with a tack cloth to remove all dust and debris. Spray with spray shellac to seal in the wood and stain varnish so that when paint is applied there will be no brown stain bleeding though.
