Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect This product is as advertised and is well worth the money. It steam cleans grout and tile like nobody's business. We even used it to steam wrinkles out of some clothes my wife wears to work. We also used it to clean the upholstery in our vehicles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good but accessories need work... Just bought one on Amazon and I like it so far, however it really needs an accessory for countertops that can accept a cloth.Going to try to adapt the smaller window squeegie attachment for this purpose. Given that I didn't buy this for wallpaper, the wallpaper attachment will gather dust I think. Perhaps make that an optional aftermarket part, and offer something designed for countertops/surfaces with a cloth instead? Just a thought. With this whole CoronaVirus thing going on, I think surface cleaning is your primary market now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Got a Dud? I ordered from amazon, used it two days and there are already problems. Did all the floors and more the first day, but a bunch of water came out at first. Then I put less water in last night to sterilize some things and do less but it would not produce steam. So I had to turn it off, wait 20 minutes put more water in and again no steam. Such a hassle. There has to be a better way. Third time it worked finally. Now today I put less in, didn't work, had to fill it again etc. and now NO steam at all. I would like a replacement that actually works. unfortunately I gave my old one away which had none of these issue. The hose gets very hot on this one also and the cord is too short- a crazy design. Can I get this replaced with something better or do I need to return to amazon?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Same Issues each time. We have bought 4 or 5 of these steamers in the last 10 years or so. While they do work great for cleaning, there are some design flaws which continue to be a problematic. The steam cap cover usually breaks off after a short time. The major issue comes from the steam hose connection to the trigger handle. On each of our units, the rubber covering splits and exposes the cloth-covered steam hose. We have tried various fixes and none seem to work. Seems like there could be a way to fix this without scrapping the unit and buying another one. No help from the manufacturer as it usually happens after the one-year warranty expires.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sub Par My 915 only produces 10 -15 seconds of steam before it cools off. 5 year old Shark ran longer than that. Very disappointing considering the money spent. Owners manual also short on info such as various uses and directions, no troubleshooting info.

Does the 915 on demand steamer have a built in pressure safety valve? If not what prevents the boiler from "exploding"?

Yes the unit comes with a pressure relief assembly located within the fill cap. Also, do not remove the cap while the unit is hot, if you want to relieve the pressure manually you can pull the trigger on the handle to do so. Can you clean car interior with this steamer

Asked by: Josebal
The 915 On Demand Power Steamer can be used to clean many different surfaces. We haven't specifically tested it for cleaning car interiors more so on floor, stovetops and removing wallpaper. I would recommend testing on a small area to see if it works to your satisfaction. But just be aware that when the steam cools there will be some water produced. If you have any other questions or needs please call our technical support staff at 1(800)328-8251.

Can the Wagner 915 be used to clean vinyl siding without damaging it?
Asked by: matenginerd
You would need to check with the siding manufacturer to determine if it can withstand up to 250 F. However, the 915 is designed with interior projects in mind such as flooring, bathrooms, sinks, upholstery, etc...typical cleaning and disinfecting uses, rather than a home's exterior.

Asked by: moish
The green and red light going off is an indication that the water is hot enough but just to be sure the lights should take about fifteen or twenty minutes to go off. If it has been less than fifteen or twenty minutes then the water may not be hot enough. If it is still not hot enough after fifteen or twenty minutes then please call us at 1-800-328-8251 and we will assist you.

how to clean 915 steamer that had water left in the tank for a long time

We inadvertently left water in the tank and the steamer was stored this way for over a year. What is the correct method of cleaning the water tank and/or disinfecting it?
Asked by: mikeditka
The best way to clean out the water tank is a mixture of 50% water and 50% white vinegar. Just leave it in the tank for 30 minutes then pour it out and put clean water in the tank, swish it around and pour it out. Then for storage, allow the tank to dry completely before closing the fill cap.

How much power does it use?

I plan on using this to clean my apartment as well as my vehicle's interior but I don't have access to an outside power outlet, would need to use a power inverter. Need to know how much power this unit uses so I can purchase the correct power inverter. Thanks!
Asked by: Ancient
The 915 Power Steamer is a 1500W unit that has a draw of 12.1 Amps. Unfortunately, that means that most vehicles, unless equipped with a special high amperage circuit (over 120 Amps), will not be able to handle the requirements to run this unit. Your best bet will be to run an extension cord to your work area from the nearest outlet.

Why is there no steam out the handle?

Gentlemen I have a Wagner 905 steamer. When I open the fill tank knob I get steam so I think the unit is heating. However no steam comes out the hand nozzle. Can the hose be clogged and can it be cleaned?
Asked by: stormin
It may be possible for the hose to be clogged. However, depending on how much steam you're getting at the cap, or how much pressure, it's more likely that the element is shutting off due to a mineral buildup. Please clean the unit, putting 8oz of water and 8oz of vinegar into the tank, and then let it sit for 30-60 minutes unplugged, rinsing it out after before trying again. If that does not work, please call us at 1-800-328-8251.

my steamer quit steaming

What can I do?
Asked by: patricia
I’m sorry to hear that your 915 On-Demand Power Steamer has stopped steaming. One thing that can cause that is if minerals have built up on the heating element over use, and they will need to be cleaned out for it to function properly. You will want to put 8 oz. of water and 8 oz. of white vinegar into the tank, and let the unit sit, unplugged, for a minimum of 30 minutes. Once that is done, empty out the vinegar mixture and slosh some clean water around inside to get any remaining residue. Once it comes out clean, you can try the unit again. If that does not work, please give us a call at 1-800-328-8251.

Can we use this product (915) for exterior and interior car wash?

Asked by: Harryfumi
We do not recommend the 915 Steamer for cleaning the exterior of a car. We would be concerned with damaging the finish and paint. As for the interior, we would caution against using it on any leather surfaces. It could be used on cloth upholstery, however we would recommend trying it first on a small discrete area of the upholstery - some stain protectors applied to the cloth may not react well with the steam.

refill tank

Why do you need to wait 20 minutes to refill the tank? Is it a safety issue or does it harm the steamer?
Asked by: jimbob
The concern is for your safety. If you don't allow enough time to pass before removing the fill cap in order to refill the tank, you can burn yourself from a release of pressure and steam. Allowing the unit 20 minutes or so to cool off will give tank time to cool a bit.

Can i use this on mattress?

Can I use this on my mattress? For cleaning and santitoze to prevent bedbugs? And kill it?
Asked by: blossom
Steamers won't actually prevent bed bugs... however, they can be used to kill both bed bugs and their eggs - if you know or suspect you might have bed bugs, you can use this steamer to treat the mattress and box springs (ensuring any bugs and eggs are dead) and then use zippered bed-bug-proof mattress and box spring covers as precautionary measures to prevent re-infestation. If your bedroom is carpeted, you should also steam the carpets in the bedroom (particularly around the baseboards). When using this to steam a mattress and box springs, use the cleaning brush with the (included) towel clipped onto it - this causes the steamer to produce dry steam so that you don't dampen the mattress/box springs. To kill bed bugs, you need to move *very* slowly with the steamer - about 12'' every 30 seconds. For what it's worth, my source on this is a highly-rated professional exterminator that I got a free consultation from. I showed him the steamer I had bought (this one) and he not only told me it would work, but said it was the exact make and model he uses himself for small-scale jobs!

How do you increase the steam's temperature to 180 F?

I bought the product to kill bed bugs. The product specifications says max temperature 284 F.
Asked by: Orangewoman
This product will kill bed bugs if used in the right way. You need to go very slowly (about 12'' every 30 seconds); for mattresses, box springs, carpeting, upholstery, etc. you should use the included towel clipped onto the brush attachment to produce dry steam rather than wet to avoid saturating the surface(s). I purchased this steamer to deal with a bug infestation and ended up getting a free consultation from an excellent exterminator the day before it arrived. I showed him the Amazon page for the steam cleaner I purchased and he said that not only will this work, but it's actually the exact make and model he uses for small-scale jobs. He explained in detail how to go about steaming to kill bed bugs and stressed the importance of going *very* slowly with the steamer.

Can I use it for carpet?

My pets wee wee on the carpet. Not me. I don't know where is the spot. So I'd like to clean whole carpet. Does id work? How can it dry carpet after steam? Do I need any additional part?
Asked by: Anonymous
It can be used on carpet with the towel clipped to the brush attachment, but that's really only effective for pest-killing purposes (fleas, ticks, mites, etc.) - to actually *clean* carpet, a machine needs to be able to put down and suck up wet steam. This machine can NOT dry carpets after steaming; however, when used with the (included) towel, it produces dry steam rather than wet and doesn't wet the carpet to begin with The person who suggested using this followed by a wet/dry vac might be on to something, but I'm not sure a wet/dry vac would have the suction power needed to dry carpet. If you already own both, you could try it on a small area first... but I definitely wouldn't buy this just to clean carpets, as it may not work. For what it's worth, I know HEB (my local grocery store) rents carpet steam cleaners by the day - I'm sure you could find a store in your area that does the same.

How do I know when the water level is getting low?

Your manual says not to run the steamer without water in the reservoir, but I don't see an indicator or anything. I didn't see anything in the manual, either.
Asked by: homer
The manual details roughly how long the water in the tank will last. 16 oz of water should last about 15 minutes, 32 oz about 30 minutes, and 48 oz roughly 45 min. This will obviously vary depending on how steadily you are operating the steamer. Using these estimates as a guide you should know approximately when it'll be necessary to refill the reservoir.

Why is my steamer spitting so much water?

This is my second time using the steamer and it spits a great deal of water all over the floor every time I press the trigger.
Asked by: Disheartened
There may be some dripping of water while using the steamer. Naturally as you use it and some of the steam cools, condensation will develop in the form of water and can drip from the steam plates or whatever attachment you are using. Also, you may want to try cleaning the inside of the steamer as it may not be heating as well as it should. Using a solution of 8oz. water and 8oz. vinegar, pour this solution into the tank and give it an hour to soak in the solution. Empty the tank and then try again with just water. If your results do not improve please give us a call at 1-800-727-4023 and we'll try and help you troubleshoot.
