Rated 2 out of 5 by from OUT OF STOCK The sprayer is great until the nozzle broke and I can not re-order because out of stock and I am right in the middle of a project. I'm thinking nozzle breaking is common which is why out of stock.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't stop spraying paint I bought this to paint some wicker chairs based on other reviews. The first coat went OK. Second coat the trigger on this device is stuck in spray mode so paint goes everywhere upon turning the blower on. The trigger simply does not shut off the sprayer when you release it. I tried to return it to HD without success. I do not recommend this sprayer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked great on the first half of the project. It worked great on the first half of the project.. When i needed to complete the project it began clogging (yes i was using thinned paint) it would stop spraying paint and air just came out.. then all of the sudden a lot of paint would come out. HUGE MESS! Paint sprayed on the piece and floor.. I took the entire thing apart cleaned it and checked all the seals (yes they're intact) put it back together and the only way i can get paint to come out is to hold my hand over the end (sprayer part) until it eventually comes out in my hand then begin spraying my piece. Total mess.. and the finish isn't great. Going to sand it down and buy a new sprayer and start over. I would recommend this product as a one time use product or disposable. Plan on throwing it away after about 5 hours worth of use..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little sprayer! We've had this for about a year and it's worked wonderfully. It's been on the shelf for about two months now and while putting it together to do another batch of bookends, I find that I can't get the connecting nut to screw on. It seems as if the sprayer has shrunk or the nut has gotten bigger. It simply goes right over the sprayer threads and won't thread at all. It's like it's 1/16th of an inch too large now. Everything else fits fine and all of the parts are there. Any thoughts?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Alot of work! I have a headboard I am train to paint using the Wagner home decor paint sprayer. I could’ve painted this by hand five times by now because this machine continually clogs. I have taken it apart multiple times can’t find any reason why it doesn’t work it just won’t spray the paint. I have tried everything it says in the manual and it still does not work properly . I have never been so frustrated and wasted so much time on a product that was supposed to decrease the time needed to paint the project. What a waste of $80 ..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used 1 time!! Absolutely love my results but after I cleaned it I have lost the seal for the inside and now it only pushes out air and a lot of paint and I don’t see where to purchase this piece?? Any advice???

I have tried to paint several things with this sprayer and EVERY SINGLE TIME I get the orange peel finish and I have tried EVERYTHING- thinning, straining, different paints, adjusting the flow and the angle and the distance. It's ridiculous.

Why does my Home Decor sprayer always spray, even when I am not pushing the trigger? I have tried all settings, cleaned nozzle, used different paints. Every time it does it. Help!

Asked by: Em13
Most likely because the retaining ring on the front of the sprayer is loose. When it's loose, it allows the nozzle to move away from the needle, breaking the seal, and paint pours (streams) out of the spray gun. Tighten it that extra little bit and the problem should go away. If not, call us at 800-328-8251.

Will this sprayer spray viscous paints with grit in them?

Asked by: Kath
We don't suggest the use of any paint with grit in it with any of our sprayers as it will cause premature wear and tear and may void the warranty. Latex paint may need thinning up to 20%, chalk paint may require 40%, but most crafting finishes will spray without thinning. For more tips call us at 800-328-8251.

Air and Paint sprays continuously when the power is on. When I started only air would flow until I pulled the trigger like it is supposed to. After spraying less that a quart if polyurethane the trigger quit working.

Asked by: trigger
It's not the trigger that is the problem. It's the retaining ring on the front of the sprayer that is loose, which loosens the nozzle. When the nozzle is loose on the gun it moves away from the trigger, breaking the seal and allowing it to spray instantly when the cup is under pressure. For more help contact us at 800-328-8251.

Is the thinning accessory included? If not, where can i find it?

Asked by: HomeDepot
The thinning accessory is not included, because it's ingrained within the system. Look at page 5 in your owner's manual. There is a description and pictures of how to use the markings on the side of the paint container to do your thinning. If you have more questions please don't hesitate to contact us directly for more information at 800-328-8251.

Asked by: cindy1906
There is always some overspray whenever you are spraying paints. In this case you should be able to hold a shield in one hand to block the overspray from the ceiling. Or you can tape and drape it too! For tips abou spraying paint call us at 800-328-8251.

Hi, I want to paint the lattice work on an outdoor fence...how do I keep it from spraying neighbours fence?

Asked by: Linrob
The Home Decor is very controllable and can be so precise that you almost don't miss your target at all. But spraying paint is all about preparation, the spraying part is easy and fun. Protect the things you don't want sprayed before you spray and the job is much easier. Professional painters would use a shield. It could be a sheet, a tarp, cardboard? Anything to block where the paint will miss it's target and also to catch any overspray that may occur. For more tips and tricks call us at 800-328-8251.

1. How much thinning is required with water based semi-gloss interior paint? 2. How much time do I have for interruptions before paint would dry and clog the sprayer? (water based)

Asked by: The Captain
1. No more than 20% thinning with water for water based paints. Start at 10%. 2. I leave paint in the sprayer all day long. Scrape off the tip with your fingernail before spraying each time. 3. Break the sprayer down at the end of the day and clean it properly.

i have a natural wicker chair that was spray painted and is chipping. Would I need to spray Kilz first before repainting it? Would it need sanded first? It is a mess but a great chair. Home Decor looks like the perfect answer to refinish it. thx

Asked by: teeg
Kilz is a great primer for covering problem areas and can certainly be applied first before your color coat of paint. To remove the chips a brass wire brush used gently to remove any loose paint first, then you shouldn't require sanding beyond that. One coat of primer and two coats of color should look great! Will gun plug up if angled to steep either direction? How steep of angle is too much?

Asked by: Hughie9
The tube inside the container should be pointed in the direction you are spraying. You can spray ceilings but you should use common sense and be careful if you are spraying ceilings. This is the first time that I am using the Home Decor Paint Sprayer and paint is spraying out when I turn the motor on. I havent even depressed the trigger yet.

Asked by: Mr H
Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Home Décor sprayer. This can be caused the locking ring in the front of the gun being loose. If the ring is tight then there may be something wrong with a component in the spray gun assembly itself. If this is the case please contact our technical support staff at 1(800)328-8251 so they can troubleshoot to determine the cause and then look into a solution to get your sprayer working as it should.

My hose is getting quite warm. Is it supposed to?

Asked by: Amanda
The air hose on any HVLP can warm up during use because you are using warm, dry air to spray with. The longer the hose, the easier that heat dissipates. Keep the air hose stretched out during use to help. For more details call us at 800-328-8251.

Asked by: Jessica
You sure can. Thin if needed. Spray 6" from the project and adjust the gun properly. If it's spitting, you have too much paint coming out, cut back on the flow rate to reduce spit. Control the amount you apply by the speed you move. Good luck with your project.
