Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Small Project Sprayer! This has been a life saver. I’m a DIY homeowner and have used this gun several times over the course of 2 years. I painted ikea furniture to match my baby’s crib. I painted my garage door, Adirondack chairs that faded from the sun, my son’s bedroom, a metal bench, etc. I just sprayed my Halloween green army costume and accessories. All paints have been latex paints. it’s been a fantastic machine. Two things though. Clean up is always a hassle, but Wagner has done a great job simplifying the process. At first it was overwhelming with the parts but now it’s easy because I’m familiar with the parts. I do suggest they provide instructions about what lubricant to purchase after you run out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works for 5 minutes then jams Tried a latex paint, because it says that it works with latex. This clogged the piston several times. If you get only a few minutes of spray time and you are ok with cleaning it and unclogging several times, this sprayer is for you! If you don't like wasting your time on cleaning every few minutes, get a better sprayer, Wagner falsely advertises this as compatible with latex paint.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont Buy, waste of money I bought this on 4/15/18 to paint a room that i am redoing, high ceilings about 330 sqft of room with a loft build in. I been using a roller this past weekend and killz latex2 in this room on the walls, the reviews i read about this product on lowes web site were ok, i went to the store and asked an employee in paint about this prodect they insured me it would work with what i was using. Even said works with latex paint on the box. So I was sure ill get this. get home follow instructions and yes it works for the first 40 seconds then it stopped spraying and I had to turn of and on again for it to work for another 30 seconds, It sputters too when its not working right even though the canister is full. I took it back today 4/16/18 to lowes and got my money back even after I used it I empty the paint before taking it back, I fished the room at 3 am this morning using a roller. I did like how the sprayer did work, but not with Killz.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It worked well for 60 seconds I brought my brand new Power Painter Plus to a friend's house to paint his living room. We spent about two hours masking and putting up plastic sheeting to control the overspray. When we were ready to paint we unboxed the sprayer and went through the instructions step by step. We disassembled the unit as we went through the cleaning procedure and identified each part that we would need to clean. After getting familiar with the unit we filled it with Glidden Diamond interior latex and began spraying the ceiling. The sprayer worked flawlessly for about 60 seconds, maybe less - enough to spray a 2' x 6' section. Then it stopped spraying. We cleaned it twice, thinned the paint with Floetrol, all to no avail. It simply wouldn't spray. We ended up rolling the ceiling and walls - which ironically took less time than prepping to spray and fussing with the sprayer. I returned the unit and am considering whether or not to try another Wagner product.

Can I spray poly acrylic or polyurethane in the Power Painter Plus?

Asked by: bboomer147
You can spray it as long as it is water based or oil based. Generally you would be expecting a "fine" finish when using polyurethane. The Power Painter is not a fine finish sprayer. We do have better systems for a fine finish. Give us a call at 800-328-8251.

Can you recommend a sprayer for painting house exterior?

Asked by: Lockard
Almost every sprayer we make can be used for the exterior of the house. For a typical homeowner to spray paint their own home, take a look at our Flexio line of HVLP sprayers that use much less paint and have much less overspray to contend with.

We have many other sprayers that will do a better job on your cabinets. Take a look at our Flexio line at Lowes and Home Depot. Can I paint inside room of house with this?

Asked by: Myron
The Power Painter is not recommended for interior spraying unless maybe the house is empty. There is substantial overspray from a piston style sprayer. For easy interior painting take a look at our Smart SideKick powered roller. Never fill or spill a tray, just keep on rolling. For more info contact us at 800-328-8251 or go to our website here - https://www.wagnerspraytech.com/products/paint-rollers/smart-sidekick-roller/

Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck semi-transparent oil based stain --- will i need to thin this? How is cleanup accomplished for oil based stains like this? This is a fence project and I will be using the suction tube extension -- oil base ok?

Asked by: Driller74
We would not expect to thin a semi-transparent oil stain to spray with the Power Painter. It should spray fine. Clean up using mineral spirits, following the directions in the manual. Good luck with your project. For tips and tricks give us a call at 800-328-8251.

My electric Wagner  will turn on but won't suck. Paint thinner cleaned but same.what can I do?

Asked by: mikeypainter
If your power painter will not prime it could be one of a couple of things. Your piston could be stuck in the pump housing, does it hum? The screen or rubber piece in the end of the suction tube could be plugged. Your atomizer valve could be worn out or there could be a piece missing. Just bought the power painter plus # 0525140. Seems to me the easiest way to clean the insides would be to fill the paint cup with warm soapy water and spray that through until it is clean. Any thoughts on that?

Asked by: GregL
If you are spraying a water base material that is a great way to clean it. We do recommend taking it apart, inspecting all the parts to make sure there is no paint inside and using the brush on the pump housing. After the soapy water clean it with some regular water and lubricate everything that needs to be lubricated and it should be ready to go the next time you need to use it. If you have any questions feel free to call us at 1-800-328-8251.

For crafting and small woodworking projects you should look at our Home Decor unit, for larger projects and the side of the house look at our Flexio line of HVLP. my sprayer seems to clog and have trouble spraying after about 3 canisters of paint. How can i avoid this?

Asked by: Faye
It might help to strain the paint before you put it in the cup. You should also clean the atomizer (swirl) valve each time you reload with paint, especially if it is thick material. Thinning the paint and/or using a paint conditioner would also help avoid clogs. You are always welcome to contact technical support at 800-328-8251. Good luck with your projects.

Can power painter plus spray flood cwf uv cedar

Asked by: Dan B
I looked up the technical data on this material and based on what I found, this material may be too thick for the Power Painter Plus. I would recommend looking at our Flexio line of sprayers either the Flexio 590(if you don't need to point the gun upwards above a 45 degree angle) or the Flexio 690(if you do need to be able to point the gun above head). Here is a link to our Flexio website: https://www.wagnerspraytech.com/products/paint-sprayers/flexio-series/ Please reach out to our technical support staff at 1(800)328-8251 if you would like to discuss these sprayers in more detail or if you have any other questions or needs.

I'm looking into buying power painter plus. But would like to know if would be able to handle Trimclad oil base paint. It's a primer and paint in one. It's some pretty thick paint. I am painting metal trailers and can't reach every where with a brush.

Asked by: GDF Farms
Based on the data sheet for this type of material(there are a few for their Tremclad oil based paint) I would not recommend using an of our Wagner sprayer since it's make up include some solvents. You would want to look at more of an industrial sprayer in which our Titan technical support can help recommend a unit, they can be reached at 1(800)526-5362.

Is Wagne lifetime warranted? I own a Wagner Power Sprayer W350 model. I know it is considered "vintage" yet I would still like to hang on to it if I could get it to spray. The motor works great. I am clueless as to why it won't spray

Asked by: scoobinalong
Our Wagner sprayers usually come with a 1 year warranty. If the motor is functioning an making the normal buzz noise then I would recommend trying a new atomizer and testing the unit with just water. If you are still experiencing issues please contact out technical support staff at 1(800)328-8251 and they will be able to troubleshoot to determine the issue and see about getting your spraying working.
