Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked out well in the end Bought this from Lowes in July to pre-paint 90 T&G pine boards for a soffit replacement projects. I figured this would work well as I could control the set up for painting in my garage. The primer sprayed well and cleanup took only a few minutes. Despite the notion that this can spray latex paint "out of the can" my experience showed that putting even quarter cup of water into the can significantly improves the sprayability. I get the sense that paint makers are happy to have thick and drip free paint as it goes on as a thicker coat and gives less mess. This would seem to be the opposite of what we need for spraying, which is a free flowing paint. After that lesson, thinning the top coat made application a breeze. Seems it needs high volume settings for flow and high speed air to make it work well. Probably other lower viscosity paints could run on lower settings. Why does the parts list online mention "black needle" when my unit has a white one? Why can I not see the appropriate parts online. The fact you sell them suggests that they are replacement items that would be needed in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It’s just OK Bought it last weekend and used it to paint my interior doors. When I sprayed the paint, it was really splotchy. Overall, the coverage was great, fast and easy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will give you as much use as a ziploc bag I'm in the process of painting my kitchen cabinets and this is the first time using my Wagner Paint Ready Station. The unit took a bit of getting used to but after some practice and conversation with a Wagner rep about what paint to use, I got a pretty good feel for it. Used 2 times with thinned Zinsser 123 primer without a problem. Unit stopped working once I was ready to apply the color and I realized the filters needed to be replaced. Why only include one filter in the package if it will need to be replaced after every couple uses? After searching 3 local home improvement stores, Amazon, and Walmart, finally called Wagner for the replacement part. At $2.20 a piece I ordered 5 filters since I would have to pay $5 for shipping. Oh, it should've been $9.50 for shipping but the rep, Julie, was doing me a "favor" probably because she was unnecessarily rude when she answered the phone. Waited a week for the filters to come in, only to realize it had been sent to the wrong address. You got me Julie. Anyways - replaced the air filter and then used 2 times with SW Emerald Urethane without a problem. Now I am on my final coat of painting and this thing WILL NOT SPRAY. I have been diligent about cleaning every part of this unit after every use. I have checked for leaks that would cause loss of pressure, changed the settings, changed the air filter and thinned the paint (mind you I did not have to before). It will not spray when held at the proper angle but somehow will spray upside down? How? Don't waste your money with this. It will cause more of a headache than it's worth.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Liked it, BUT.... Bought this to do ceilings that were being retextured. I have a lot of experience with airless sprayers, having sprayed numerous exteriors and interiors of newly built homes. The overspray inside is toxic. So, I decided to purchase a Wagner PaintReady Station HVLP sprayer for my ceiling project. It took a big of getting use to as the material does not come out as strong or fast as an airless. Glad I needed to shoot primer first. The result was pretty good, but did have some clogging issues. First, I simply brushed dried paint away from the tip and that worked for awhile, but then I needed to break down the tip and brush it out good. I also tried it with some heavy exterior latex and the sprayer just didn't have enough umph to push it through. I definitely recommend wearing a mask while painting -- at leas indoors. Also, I found you cannot leave it too long without spraying as things clog up and require breakdown and scrubbing. Finally, Wagner does not list the PaintREADY Station on their web site. You have to search for it. I suspect it has been replaced by another model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use to paint a basement ceiling I used the paint ready station to paint a basement ceiling. It was quick, and cleanup was a snap. Had some issues getting the spray dialed in at first using a gallon a lot sooner than i had expected. Overall, once I got the hang of using the machine and the nozzle settings, the job went super quick, and the results are fantastic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from didn't work After numerous attempts, and much wasted time, I returned this device to Lowe's, where I was told by a salesperson that "it's a waste of money". It easily clogged and was only able to "spit" paint, until it didn't work at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful paint system I bought the paint ready station last spring to paint my neighbors house. I had just landscaped her entire front and back yard and she was impressed with my keen eye for detail so she asked me to paint her house. After learning the parts of the sprayer, practicing on plywood and scrap pieces of Wood i realized just how easy it is to use. It does excellent narrow or detailed areas as well as the wide pattern covers exceptionally well. As I began to paint the soffit areas i was pleased how quickly and evenly it sprayed the first coat. No runs of drips. As I began the gable ends and the sides of the house again I am pleased at its even application without any runs or drips. I had a person standing by to backroll but it wasn't necessary. Lol had to send them home. The area of coverage i was able to cover with each tank full of paint was impressive. It was really warm out and though I was in the shade the paint was drying quickly. I was worried the passes i made with the overlap would be uneven or noticeable, but the entire house dried evenly and is beautiful. This was my first house I've painted with a sprayer and it came out so nice i have been painting literally every one of my neighbors houses since then and still going strong. To date i have painted 46 houses and have a waiting list of over two months of clients waiting for me. The clean up of the sprayer is so quick and easy. My hats off to the Wagner corp. Excellent product.

My paint ready station has a lot splotchy when painting, I used it in hight speed and low flow material, I cleen the air filter and NOTHING, it's maddening when it comes to painting a ceiling and consume a lot of paint because the sprayed is very thick.

Asked by: Abner Elenes
It sprays thick drops, not like a roller, the paint has to be very very thin to work, more than 20%, almost like water and the paint lost quality. The gun does not have enough spray force

Can this perform paimt flekking?

Asked by: scrabibble
Paint flaking? No we wouldn't want our sprayers to do that. Paint with flakes/glitter in the paint may spray and may clog more often and may wear the nozzle prematurely, but should work. If we didn't get your question right, call us at 1-800-328-8251.

Wagner branded sprayers can use water based and oil based paints, stains and finishes. They cannot use shellac or lacquer. We have other brands that would spray lacquer, give us a call at 1-800-328-8251 for help choosing the right sprayer for your project.

Nozzle gasket what side should be sitting in when replacing

Asked by: Castle03
Over many years of testing and use we have discovered that it doesn't matter which direction the nozzle seal sits. Groove in or groove out, it works either way. Good luck with your projects.

Can this be used with primer? More specifically the Behr White Acrylic Interior Drywall Plus Primer and Sealer.

Asked by: Kbart1028
Behr is among the thickest of paints made today. That fact makes it difficult to spray, so it must be thinned. We would suggest about 20% water to thin properly. Then test on a scrap before painting your project. For more application tips call us at 1-800-328-8251.
