Flexio 5000 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great This was my first experience using a paint sprayer and I really didn’t know what to expect. I couldn’t have been more pleased. My first project involved spraying very thick exterior latex paint and within the first few minutes I had it dialed in to deliver a good spray pattern. It took a fraction of the time to paint my project compared to using a brush and it was very easy to control where the paint went. The air hose on the Flexio 5000 made it very convenient to paint my entire project without having to move the power box around. So far, I am very pleased and am looking forward to my next project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome little sprayer I bought this sprayer after getting tire of using a brush to stain the rails, ballisters, lattice etc when staining decks in my business. Just needed something to speed up the tedious process. It did a great job and sped up the process by alot. The first deck I tried it on would have taking me 2 days with all the ballisters, lattice etc doing it with a brush with 2 coats. Using this sprayer only took me 4 hours including the deck itself. The only problem I have with these types of sprayers is having to refill the container over and over and over again. It was aggravating having to stop every few minutes, take the container off, fill it back up, screw it back on and then start spraying again. Besides that I really love this little thing. Has a good spray pattern and love that you can turn the output up or down. Easy to set up and clean as well after.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money It says it can do an 8' x 10' wall in 5 minutes? Never! it took me over 4 hours to paint a 360 sq ft shed and its a streaky mess. I was using exterior latex. It did not matter how much I overlapped, Or changed pressure, Or paint settings. It was streaky . It might work good with maybe small items(furniture) But not walls. Quit lying about your products Wagner. If it's a piece of , Price it that way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All-around great sprayer Received the Flexio 5000 a few weeks ago to review as a crew member and was able to use it on a two projects I was working on. First I used the sprayer to paint a new pantry/rear entry into my home. I did not have to thin the paint and I found the nozzle adjustments were simple. The sprayer was light and easy to maneuver and I finished the room in half the time I would with a roller. End results were great, and clean up was pretty simple. I was so happy with the Flexio 5000 I decided to use it to paint a platform bed I built, one that I had previously planned on hand painting. For this project, I thinned the paint slightly and switched to the detail finish nozzle. And to my surprise it turned out better than any of my hand painting projects by far. I will definitely be using the Flexio for all my painting jobs from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact Lightweight Fast! The Flexio 5000 is perfect for those overhead and large lengthy paint projects. I love that everything fits perfectly contained and as needed in the containment unit as it makes travel with the sprayer organized and efficient. The fact that the turbine is housed in the containment unit really makes the sprayer much more lightweight for those lengthy projects that require extensive work keeping the fatigue on your arm and body at a minimum. The included nozzles and adjustable spray patterns are versatile and can cover surfaces large, small, tight and immense with supreme even coverage no matter the material of the surface or the media (lacquer, finishes, latex, etc.) one chooses to apply. I used the Flexio 5000 in a 30'x15' interior and the length of the hose from the unit was just enough to get me almost completely around the square footage without having to move the unit much at all. Easy to clean compared to many airless sprayers on the market. I would recommend this to anyone looking to cut their paint/sprayer times down by more than half and is perfect for domestic projects as well as small commercial projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Great sprayer! Love that it’s compact and fits back in its container. Easy to use and clean. Sprayer nozzle provides great paint coverage. Good for large or small projects. Would definitely recommend this sprayer for anyone looking to have a home paint sprayer for home/furniture projects.

So, is the flexio 5000 a totally "airless" spray gun or is it an "air" spray gun? I thought it was airless but I see reference made to the air hose. Thank you.

Asked by: JRamos
The Flexio's are all HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) air sprayers. They operate under 4 psi which is why there is so much less overspray than an airless that operates at 1800-3000 psi. For more info call us at 800-328-8251.

How is the 5000 series for painting ceilings with latex? We have 10ft ceilings in a 2,000 square foot house and would like to paint all interior walls/ceilings/trim with a sprayer. Would another sprayer be better?

Asked by: bmg1
The Flexio 5000 works fine on ceilings. It will do the job but a Control Pro 170 or 190 would do the job as well and be much faster. Take a look at the link below for more information. https://www.wagnerspraytech.com/?s=control+pro

I’m new to paint sprayers.  What is the difference between the different series?  890, 3000,5000?

Asked by: Tamster
The Flexio's are all HVLP technology. The 5000 is the new version of the 890, with improved iSpray nozzle. The 890/5000 separate the spray gun from the turbine motor. The 3000 is handheld, everything is in your hand including the turbine. For more help call us at 800-328-8251.

Does this sprayer work very well with exterior semi-transparent stains? If it does are there any specific suggestions for using this?

Asked by: dodger
With the iSpray front end nozzle in the sprayer it should spray semi-transparent stain easily. Cut down on power and flow rate to control application speed. Use the detail nozzle for an even more controlled application and finer atomization for a nicer finish. For tips and tricks call us at 800-328-8251.

What is the difference between the Flexio 970 and the 50000?

Asked by: Nugent
The Flexio 970 draws paint from the can, not a cup on the sprayer. It's mainly a house painting machine. The 5000 uses strictly HVLP technology and does not draw paint from a can. It's better suited to painting trim or interior walls or cabinets.

I am looking to purchase a Wagner sprayer, the Flexio 5000 in particular. I’m regards, what pant types EXACTLY can you use with it? Looking to paint my deck with BEHR Deck Over, as well as paint my metal patio table and some plastic items.

Asked by: DWINN8857
The Flexio line of HVLP sprayers, using the iSpray front end nozzle can spray most regular latex/water based and oil based paints, stains and finishes. Deck Over is not normal, it has fibres in the paint which makes it great at what it does (cover holes) but not so great when spraying. It requires a large tip at high pressure to spray, the Flexio will not do it. For more tips call us at 800-328-8251.

The Flexio 5000 is replacing the Flexio 890, when your local store sells out of 890's they will stock the shelves with 5000's. It called a running change and we can't control it at this point. We have already shipped 5000's all over the country. The only difference is in the iSpray front end and by the way, the new iSpray fits the old guns too! For more info call us at 800-328-8251.

Regarding the Flexio 5000, when painting the exterior of a home do you recommend two coatings assuming a good quality latex exterior paint?

It does not matter what tool paint is applied with. It usually takes two evenly applied coats to cover with latex paint. Even the paint that says high hiding, usually takes two coats, depending on the color change. Good luck with your projects.

What can be expected as far as overspray when painting interior trim? How much masking is required?

Asked by: kjwl
With proper adjustment and use you will get less than 10% overspray with HVLP systems. As you use the tool better, your overspray will become even more controlled. Preparation is key when spraying, tape and drape, drop cloths and shields are all are part of the paint crews tools. Practice first so you know how much protection you need, then go a little farther. I notice the people in your photos are not wearing protective clothing or a breathing mask. Are these not necessary with your sprayers?

Asked by: renguy
In real life situations we do suggest the use of protective clothing and headgear/eyewear to prevent the inhalation of any foreign particles that may be present when spraying various materials. We also suggest that only water-based or mineral spirit-type materials with a minimum flash point of 100º F (38ºC) be used with our sprayers — Do not spray or clean with liquids having a flash point of less than 100º F (38ºC). Also, different sprayers produce different amounts of overspray and would require different methods of protection. For specific answers about your situation please give us a call at 800-328-8251.

Can it spray oil based paints?

Asked by: GRam
Our Flexio sprayers will spray oil base paints and stains as long as they clean up with mineral spirits or a product that has a flashpoint of 100 degrees or more. Flashpoint is the point at which something can ignite and can normally be found on the can. If you have further questions feel free to call us at 1-800-328-8251.
