Control Spray Finishing Sprayer is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks from the trigger I used it the first time and it leaked so I cleaned the trigger. The second time I used it paint was running down my elbow. Its sprays very well. it should not be giving such problems after such limited use. This is the fourth one Ive bought because it has the best working system ...when new. But after the first use its a problem. I'd give high ratings without the leak but with it I cannot. I've had to use plumber's tape around the seal for it to stop leaking. Maybe the seal mechanism is defective...I shouldn't have to do that to get it to work as it should.

Is minwax helmsman spar urethane semigloss sprayable with a Wagner control spray PLUS HVLP?

Asked by: John37
It is sprayable, but it may require some thinning, 5-10% should do it. Most Minwax products are thin enough already. For application tips call us at 800-328-8251.

The date code is stamped into the plastic on the butt end of the handle or the bottom of the turbine base unit. It looks like this H123R.

I have model# 0417201 looking to apply Olympic Maximum Solid Color Stain/Sealant will this sprayer work

Asked by: Jim S
It would do better with a semi-transparent stain, but if you strain your stain it should work fine. Our Flexio line of HVLP sprayers will certainly spray it as they have even more power for atomization.

I would like to use a special artist acrylic paint in this spray gun. Do I need to add water or something else to it in order for it to work with the spray gun?

Asked by: TSVEN
The Control Spray is designed to spray thin-bodied oil based materials like stain, sealers, and enamels. We have had customer use water-based material but has required a good amount of thinning to do so. If you are wanting to spray more water-based materials I recommend looking at our Flexio line of sprayers, they were designed with thicker materials in mind. Please contact our technical support staff at 1(800)328-8251 if you would like to discuss these options or have any other questions or needs.
