Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little sprayer! I picked up my sprayer yesterday to help with a urethane finish on a walnut coffee table I built for my son. I am really pleased with the ease of use and nice finish that the table now has.

Can you use this to spray lacquer and if so can you use lacquer thinner to clean it?

Asked by: Dmarchbanks
This sprayer is not designed to spray anything with a flashpoint of less than 100 degrees. So if the product or what you clean up with has a flashpoint of less than a 100 degrees then it should not go through the sprayer. The flashpoint is the temperature that something can ignite and should be listed on the can. Water base lacquers are fine. What mm is the tip on each spray pattern? I'm wanting to use it to spray milk paint and they suggest a 1.8mm/2.0mm.

Asked by: Hunter23
The Control Spray tip is 1.8mm and should work just fine. Milk paint may benefit from slight thinning. Even 5% water makes a big difference in how it sprayers. If the gun is spitting, cut down on paint flow. For more application tips call us at 1-800-328-8251.

I am about to paint a dresser, chest of drawers, baby crib, and side table. We have purchased the Magnolia Home paint, which says that it’s a water based paint, would this 250 model work for this project?

Asked by: mswhite15
You will need to thin your paint 10-20% with water. Spray from 6" away and if it spits paint, cut down on paint flow until it's gone. Apply a wet coat with each pass, not 5 passes to get it wet. For more application techniques, call us at 1-800-328-8251.

is this considered an HPLV sprayer? the stain i bought says to use an airless or roller and brush

Asked by: gussuk
Yes it's an HVLP, High Volume Low Pressure, sprayer that operate at less than 10 psi. These are preferred for fine finishing because of the high transfer efficiency. Airless (1500-3000 psi) are generally preferred for house painting. There are no cans that say to use HVLP because, even though it's been around since about 1953, HVLP is still considered "new" technology. However, with this "new" technology comes more control, less overspray and a gentler application. With the Control Stainer 250 and semi-transparent stain should spray fine, if it's solid color stain it may need thinning up to 20% with water. For more specific help contact us with the stain you plan to use at 1-800-328-8251.

What particle size in microns can the sprayer get down to? 15 Microns or what is the range? Thanks

Asked by: aakevin
These are paint sprayers. We don't measure in microns for these tools. They will, however, spray diluted disinfectant easily.
