Step 2 - Preparing the room
Prepare the surface by removing all the items, lights fixtures, outlet covers that are attached to the wall. Repair any cracks, holes or dents.
You do not want you furniture to get painted too, so it is a good idea to keep it out of the room you want to paint in.
Step 3 - Moving the furniture
Remove all the furniture from the room to avoid paint getting dripped or spilled or move all the furniture to the center of the room and cover all of it with a drop cloth. By removing all the furniture, you'll give yourself more working area for your ladder, brushes and paint.
Now that room and wall are prepared, you can start to paint the wall.
Step 1 - Choosing the right paint
Select a high quality paint that will go on surface smooth and will have a lasting finish. Select a no VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paint, so you can avoid breathing the harmful pollutants in the air. Paints with VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) can pollute the air, water, and soil.
Step 2 - Start with the edges
First start painting the edges and trim with a SMART Edge Roller for tape free edging.
Roller the walls with paint. Start in the same location where you paint the trim and work in the same direction.
Step 3 - How to paint your wall the most efficient way
Paint from top down. Beginning in the upper corner and working your way downward. Get even coverage. Avoid seams by overlapping a wet edge as you paint. Don't stop in the middle of the wall as you may leave mark or heavy spot of paint as the roller leaves the wall. Look to Wagner for a wide variety of rollers to make the job easier, faster and achieve professional results.
