Position Objective:

Leading and directing the information technology (IT) function for Wagner (the Company), encompassing the Decorative Finishing Division in the Americas region. Reporting to the CFO, this position will manage and guard information resources while building the Company’s IT infrastructure and instilling best-in-class eCommerce practices. The position’s primary objective is to develop and execute the vision for the Company’s IT strategy while providing reliable, real time information to the sales, marketing and operations functions allowing the Company to manage growth and maximize profits. The IT Director’s project management capabilities, hands on approach and motivating enthusiasm will be key drivers of the Company’s success. Working closely with our foreign affiliates, this position will have a strong voice in leading the IT direction for the Wagner Group worldwide.

Responsibilities:

Directing IT

  • Instill best-in-class eCommerce practices with strong multi-channel marketing capabilities
  • Execute and influence the composition of the IT road map, prioritizing major IT projects for the fiscal year and beyond
  • Develop and drive project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources
  • Dedicate and manage appropriate resources to completely document the critical IT processes and procedures
  • Develop and commit to annual budgets, managing and reporting on any variances
  • Lead and organize the Company’s IT steering committee and meetings

Project Execution

  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Manage internal and external resources within budget and project schedules
  • Delegate work to IT staff and third party vendors / developers
  • Create, communicate, and enforce coding standards
  • Review work of team
  • Actively participate and contribute to complete tasks efficiently
  • Rely heavily on past programming and system administration skills to understand the detail of the project(s) while managing the overall scope at a Director level

Communication

  • Share vision and project requirements with management, vendors, and employees
  • Coordinate activities with sales, marketing, merchandising, operations, customer service, procurement, and warehousing to ensure goals and requirements are met
  • Deliver informative, well-organized presentations
  • Prepare and distribute minutes and actions from steering committee meetings and other structured group discussions
  • Understands how to communicate difficult / sensitive information

Solution Development and Delivery

  • Analyze data from multiple systems to develop business intelligence
  • Establish and enforce standards and procedures for documentation
  • Build and automate reports to track KPI’s and metrics to monitor the business
  • Educate staff members on where to pull information from and the importance of the measurements
  • Advance and drive the digitization of all platforms, processes and procedures
  • Creatively devise processes and procedures to optimize the management of the internal control system within the IT department

Architecture Monitoring

  • Manage MSP to provide secure and reliable network infrastructure

Security

  • Ensure all IT systems are safe and secure
  • Comply with established security requirements and follow security and performance standards typical with eCommerce companies and required by law or regulation
  • Create a secure way of storing all company information and documents
  • Enforce hardware and software security policies, including password management and asset control
  • Monitor information backup procedures and instill strong disaster recovery practices

General Leadership

  • Generate enthusiasm among team members
  • Manage the process of innovative change
  • Ensure functional and technical expertise of the team
  • Lead by example, both in management style and knowledge of the entire IT process

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science and/or MIS preferred; advanced degree a plus
  • 10+ years of IT experience with a track record of success and increasing responsibility
  • MUST have recent SAP experience including project rollouts and system management; implementation preferred
  • Experience at an eCommerce or multi-channel marketing business strongly preferred
  • Successful project management roles at a similar sized business ($100M+ revenue)
  • Experience managing employees and working within a budget
  • Strong vendor evaluation and management abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of documentation policies, procedures, and systems of internal control
  • Programming and system administration background and experience preferred
  • Business orientation and approach with strong technology capabilities
  • Management and administration of IT infrastructure and support
