The Optimus plus is a waist of time and money. at high speed I consistently had paint blobs at any flow speed I tried. The low speed was intermittent flow at best. I read and followed the directions page by page.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I apologize for the difficulty you've had using our Power Painter Plus. There are a few things I can recommend if you wanted to try to problem shoot your issue.
Make sure that your piston is not seized inside of your pump housing. This can happen if the piston is dirty or if you are holding the trigger continuously. The Power Painter Plus is meant to be operated by spraying an arms length pass across your body, letting go of the trigger each time. If you hold the trigger for too long you can over heat the piston.
Do most of your spraying horizontally; do not spray at more than a 45 degree angle from horizontal.
Make sure that your suction tube, spray tip and locking nut are hand tight in the sprayer. If either of these were to be loose, they can pull air into the machine.
Also, there are three holes in the bottom of your pump housing. Make sure that they are not plugged in any way.
If you wish to call us for further help, please do so at 1-800-328-8251.

I recently did a gazebo, and a patio deck with my power painter plus,i blasted thru nine gallons of un thinned latex with ease. But I highly recommend buying the power painter max because it comes with a hose that can pull paint straight from a five gallon bucket. I couldnt find that hose at any home depot.
Proseasy cleanup
Consno hose attachment

I recently built a large wall storage unit in my garage. Painting with a brush would have taken far too long.
I bought the Wagner Power Painter Plus with Optimus technology.
I am new to air-less sprayers, so first tried it out on scrap panels. I soon got the hang of the technique.
I did learn that the machine must be kept level, horizontal, otherwise it sucks air as the paint container empties, and this causes spatters and blobs.
The finish is excellent; smooth, even and clean, and paint delivery rate surprisingly high for a machine of this size.
All in all a great machine for the money.
Prosgood quality, value for money, easy to use
Consnothing really

Too soon to say for sure. First time I used, the piston kept freezing up. Was told by selling dealer that paint I was using was to thick and to thin it out. I did and now seems to be ok.
My main concern is that no one has maint. parts or lubricating oil in stock. Where can I bu7y the oil?????

Can I use Power painter plus to use undiluted latex paint and primer to paint wood panels? I was told that the painter plus is not strong enough to spray undiluted latex paint out of can.

Answer:
Yes, it will spray undiluted latex paint. I would recommend doing an arms length pass and let go of the trigger. I would not recommend holding the trigger down continuously. The reason being in the piston inside the machine moves 2000 times per minute and if you are holding down the trigger continuously the heat from the piston starts to dry the paint inside the machine causing it to spit, sputter, or even seize the piston.6 months ago
Is the flexible spray tip extension used with older model sprayers compatible for use with the Power Painter Plus with The Optimus Dual Tip Technology?

I assume the pump produces air pressure to pressurize the tank, therefore forcing the paint up to the gun? The vibrating pump is like a rubber bellows or a piston?

The Wide Shot is an airless sprayer. The piston in the sprayer will create a vacuum that draws the paint up the suction tube.7 months ago

I've painted several times with this sprayer and have always cleaned it thoroughly. I'm using an exterior latex paint. Last night it was most of the way through the first gallon when it started to act funny (not an even spray, lots of globs). I figured it must have gunked up and wasn't pulling paint correctly so I decided to pour the remaining paint back in the can and clean up.
I noticed at that point the piston was difficult to get out for cleaning. It seemed to clean up fine and when re-assembled appeared to function correctly.
Tonight I wanted to finish up and loaded up the sprayer and began spraying but only a few minutes into spraying it got stuck again. I pulled it apart, unjammed the piston, put it back together and resumed spraying. Again, a few minutes later it jammed again.
The longer I sprayed the more frequent it jammed and the harder it was becoming to un-jam the piston. I only made it through 1/2 gallon of paint before giving up and cleaning the pieces.
I can't see any obstructions in the cylinder and if I manually cycle the piston it appears to move freely back and forth. As I mentioned once put back together it works for a short period of time before getting stuck.
I saw there is a replacement piston kit, but it seemed like all of the comments were from people who "broke" a piston. The piston on my sprayer does not appear to be broken.
Any help would be appreciated but I don't know if I want to continue using the sprayer at this point for fear of breaking something worse than the piston.

Answer:
While using the sprayer are you holding down the trigger continuously or doing a pass and letting go? If you are holding down the trigger continuously that could be what is causing your piston to seize. The piston inside the machine moves 2000 times per minute so if you are holding down the trigger continuously the heat from the piston with cause your paint to start to dry inside the machine causing it to spit, sputter, or seize the piston. If you are doing an arm's length pass and letting go of the trigger and still experiencing problems with your piston seizing the piston has probably worn and needs to be replaced.
