Fast and efficient I have read many of the reviews and I think that most low scores are from those who have never used it. It takes practice and hints. To start, you have to prime it with a couple quick spirts onto a scrap board to avoid blotches. I wish it had a larger paint container to prevent frequent refills on larger jobs. I do not like the connection method as it tends to get sticky after if you are filling several times. Can you make a flexible bag system that can hold more than the solid container and would be lighter. and less cumbersome. May 10, 2013
Very Disappointed!!! I purchased the unit to paint doors and cabinets. It was a disaster!!! I had fully sanded the doors, working hard to get down to the bare wood. Once I started using the spray painter I had blobs of paint on the first use. The doors looked good in some areas, but had such large blobs I had to sand them down again (a lot of labor). I gave the unit the benefit of the doubt and tried again, with similar results. I also have tried to find the right size replacement atomizer valve with no success. Even the Wagner web site comes up with "no results found" for the part number I input. What gives Wagner? I have a marketing degree and if you make one customer happy, they'll tell 3 other people. If you don't make them happy they'll tell more than 7 other people. I'm on number 8 right now. April 23, 2013
Junk I have had one for several years, it lobs paint so bad I have to roll anyway. Now I only use it for deer blinds because lobs of paint look good on it. Every time I open the box it is a dissapointment but I paid to much to throw it away April 21, 2013
Economical and very efficient After using my first Wagner Power Painter for about 10 years, I've now bought a second one after losing small parts in the grass while cleaning up after painting fences, furniture, etc. in my back yard. These units give a good, uniform coverage, even when working with irregularly-shaped objects. I particularly like the ability to work with minimal quantities of material on relatively small jobs that would otherwise require use of a brush. February 15, 2013
dribbles as much as it sprays Bought it about 6 months ago. Even though I keep it as clean as new it has always dribbled as much liquid as it sprayed. Also, last time I used it I sat it on a table temporarily and after a couple of minutes it began spraying with no one touching it. November 30, 2012
Poor Design of parts I purchased the Power Painter Max and was very disappointed with the connections to the container. To spend this much money and have the fittings leak all over. To make it worse the adapter to the back pack is poorly engineered . The threads get crossed and then you cannot separate the retainer cap. The clear tubing is impossible to clean. I even purchased separate bags and solvent cleaner and lubricant but that will not clean up this. I called support and was told to take it into ace Hardware to see if they could pry apart the adapter from the retainer cap. Very poor customer service. I would never buy Wagner nor would I tell friends to buy it. November 30, 2012
Very poor product Purchased this from Lowes a few days ago and began using it today to paint my fence today. It started working fine for the first three container fulls of oil-based paint, then at the end of the third container full, it started sputtering out chunks and after following the directions in the manual, including cleaning the entire sprayer after taking it apart. I purchased this so that I wouldn't have to manually paint my fence with the rollers, but it looks like I will have to do that anyway, what a waste of $70. I would stay away from this product or just pay a pro to do your fence for you. October 11, 2012
Piece of Junk Biggest waste of money I have ever spent. Paid $100 for the sprayer and used it once. Did a thorough cleaning like instructed and the thing never worked next time. After a lot of research I discovered I needed a new piston assembly because I broke it trying to get it out again to clean it. (Poorly made). The new assembly is another 30 a third the cost of a new sprayer. Will never buy anything Wagner again. September 25, 2012

What kind of oil do I have to buy for use when cleaning the machine? The book tells me cleaning oil but doesn't specify if it's just machine oil or a special one. And I can't seem to find it on Amazon.

Answer:
Yes, it will go through the nozzle with good coverage. But make SURE you clean up immediately after finishing. Use solvent and the small brush that comes with the unit.

Answer:
It depends a bit on the specific enamel product. It will spray many types of enamel but sometimes you will need to thin them in order to spray them. If you wanted to call us with the brand of your enamel and some specifics from the back of the can such as PSI or tip size recommended we could answer this more directly. Please call us if you would like more help at 1-800-328-8251.
