Paint Crew Plus 2.7 5 20 20
Failure to pressurize gun I have used paint crews for many years, and bought a paint crew plus (larger media bin). Out of the box it worked just fine for 5 gals of ext. latex. 2nd time out, had to replace inlet and outlet valve. Worked great for about an hour, then failed to pressurize gun again. Don't want to spend $40+ for valves each time I use it. Am very frustrated. The older paint crew (smaller version) worked for me for quite a few years. April 29, 2013
Not Sure I bought this brand new and I have only used it once. The first time we used it I would have given this 10 stars but unfortunately the second time we tried to use it, it didn't work. I took it all apart to see if it was clogged up and the inlet valve was broken. I have been looking online for a new piece and it looks like you have to buy a whole kit for another $55. It is not worth it to me. The piece I need looks like a $2 piece. March 17, 2013
Not very impressed PICKED UP CREW PAINTER NEW, LASTED 5 MIN. AND STOPPED PAINTING. FINALLY GOT AROUND TO FIXING IT AND NO LUCK. iT IS CLEANED, AND THERE REALLY IS NOT THAT MUCH TO DO...MOTOR RUNS, NO PRESSURE. TRIED EVERYTHING, NOW WHAT DOES WAGNER HAVE TO SAY??? November 25, 2012
Worked for about a half gallon of latex I used it for about 1/2 hour and the outlet valve plastic plunger was all pitted. Would not hold pressure and motor runs all the time. I like the design but wish it would last longer without replacing the valve. October 28, 2012
Very good product, but... The Paint Crew Plus performed very well for me. I used Sherwin Williams "Resilience" paint, which is amazing, forgiving paint. As I am anything but a professional painter, there were many "boo-boos" that I made while painting. The paint didn't run, and when it dried it looked like a professional had painted it. Of course, some of the credit goes to the equipment. The sprayer is a good value. Once I learned to read and follow the directions for cleaning - and purchased replacement input and output valves (which I hadn't cleaned properly), I had no trouble. I'm sure all of the problems mentioned in the reviews were because the sprayer was not cleaned well. It is very time consuming to clean this sprayer properly, which would be my only complaint. When cleaned properly, the sprayer works perfectly. Clean it thoroughly immediately after using it. September 21, 2012
Durability Issues Bought sprayer 14 months ago. Painted one set of shutters. Worked fine, but cleanup took longer than painting by hand would have. Last month decided to use sprayer to stain fence. Worked just okay the first day. After reading other reviews, I suspect the tip was not the right one for the job. Used for about 3 hours. On the second day, the system would not hold pressure. Definitely not worth the money spent to only last for about 3.5 hours of use. September 1, 2012
Great Easy to use , Clean up a breeze, Very little loss on clean up. And quite fast to paint my place. And no cloggs. Buy good paint..A good unit for some one who paints once in a while yet wants top dollar job.. July 1, 2012
No pressure after first use Worked fine when I tried it on a test patch. (Took over an hour to clean.) The second time I used it, it had too little pressure to spray evenly and the motor ran continuously. I took everything apart, but even after a thorough cleaning pressure was too low to work properly. This unit had nice features, but unfortunately, it's a real lemon. June 25, 2012

Answer:
The maximum tip size that the Paint Crew Plus can support is a .015. If the manufacture of the paint recommends a .015 tip or smaller no thinning is needed.

This is a paint crew plus, about 2 years old. The entire screw and hex head are plastic as is the removal tool. I tried the tool first and it just rounded off the inside flats. I then used a metal hex socket wrench. Is there another way to remove the inlet valve?
How can you help?

Answer:
If you cannot get the inlet valve out with the removal tool provided you can use a 11/16 allen wrench. If you continue to have problems please contact us at 1-800-328-8251 and one of our representatives will be able to assist you.

The instructions say to use a 5/8" socket and insert the removal tool to remove the inlet valve. The tool just falls through the 5/8" socket and the next size down is too small. I see where you recommend an 11/16" allen wrench but that is too big for the Paint Crew Plus. The other sizes I try seem to fit but when I start turning them, they just turn. I think the plastic has gotten soft. Any solutions?
