I use a heat gun for shrink tube applications for speaker building, cable making and various light duty tasks. The last one I had only lasted about two years, and cost $10 on sale. This Wagner heat gun was close to $30, but I was in the middle of a wiring project and needed one quick, so I sprang for it. It does not sit with the heat projecting upward easily, and the switch is wired backwards from what I am used to, but I suppose that I will eventually get used to it.

The main reason why I selected the HT1000 Heat Gun was its small size. It is lightweight and capable of handling heat shrink tubing. That was what I was looking for.

I've used commercial-grade heat guns for years at work (that range from $100-200 each#, and this $25 option does the SAME job. Granted, the construction isn't as heavy-duty, but if you're not going to be throwing it around it's plenty tough. The only thing I'm going to miss is the cool-down feature that more expensive models have, but I've already tried it and if you just set it somewhere safe for 25-30 minutes, it's ready to put away #totally worth the extra $150 for me to do this myself). LOVE IT!
Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased this as a replacement for a heat gun that had served me for over 15 years and this one looks like it will last at least that long. I have used it for a variety of task and it now has several hours of use on it with no problems. A good choice to replace my old friend.
Yes, I recommend this product.
