Deck Mate 3.3 5 24 24
Great product! We put the first coat on the deck in the spring with a roller and it took all day and broke our backs. Saw the Deckmate and thought we would try it - it is fabulous. Took about 1/2 an hour to do the largest portion of the deck - used about 1/2 of the gallon. Easy to use, easy to clean up - we would highly recommend this product!! October 11, 2013
Best thing I have ever bought!! Recommend this applicator to anyone. Saves time and effort, minimal mess to clean, no back injuries. THe best part is the amount of stain used. I rejuvenated my deck which is dark colour ebony with 2 coats and used half the stain I did originally using brushes and regular pad applicators. So easy to use. If it starts to pool just turn the flow off and spread out the excess evenly. This is my first (and probably last) product review. August 24, 2013
Great Product I was very pleased with this product. Yes you will have to use a brush at the ends of th boards. This is a minimal effort and you have saved so much time and bending you really won't care. July 22, 2013
bad product tryed deck mate results very unsatisfatory found stain flow impossible to control purchase of this product was total waste of time and money wagner should offer everyone who bought this product a total refund July 8, 2013
Works as designed, quick, easy, very little mess Hi folks, OK, so I am no professional. I got a bad back, and I am REALLY lazy when it comes to doing yard work. Anything that is going to make my job easier, I am in for that 105%. (Kinda funny when you read that I am lazy) I used semi-transparent stain. Which, after stirring, I made a mess and got it all over the place trying to pour it in the hole. No worries, I spilt it on the deck and the deck has to be stained. I quickly learnt, DO NOT APPLY moving backwards. It leaves gobs of stain. I did 4 boards wide at a time, moving FORWARDS. I did 1/2 of a 30 x 12 foot deck in about 20 minutes with about 1/2 the can of stain. This was the amount I predicted I would use. Years ago, I did it with a pan and roller. Yes, there was stain on the deck, but because of spray from the roller, there was stain other places as well. (Side of the house, Mrs wasn't impressed) Tomorrow, I gotta move the chairs to the other side of the deck to do the other 1/2. Oh yea, the cute little "hairs" to paint between the boards. You could loose them and I would still highly recommend this product. June 20, 2013
Junk! I stain decks for a living and am always willing to try a new product. Bought the Deckmate and it was a total waste of time and money. been doing this for 12 years and after many trials and errors I suggest to save your money on gadgets and buy a good paint or stain brush. June 13, 2013
Cut my time in half Picked one of these up last fall on sale. After cleaning the deck last weekend I pulled out the DeckMate this weekend and went to work. Once I got the hang of the flow valve (just pick a setting for a pace that suits you) I was flying thru the deck. Clean up was a snap too. Only problem I had was trying to get the brush between the boards, it could be done but took some time to properly line up. All and all a great product that saved me time and a backache. May 6, 2013
Made our deck staining so much easier. We recently restained our 600 sq ft deck with the Deck Mate, and it was so much easier than any other processes we've used in the last 10 years. It worked wonderfully except the "groove brushes" (a great idea) were not tough enough. They were worn out totally when the 2nd coat was finished. Thanks for a great product. July 13, 2012

Answer:
I did, just tilt the handle upward to get the stain to flow. Worked for me, but I only did a small area... Love it though...

Answer:
I used a brush on the vertical surfaces, I assume the Deck Mate needs the flow of stain and it probably won't work on vertical surfaces.

Answer:
As noted on the instructions in the box, they can be purchased from the place where you bought your deck mate, or they can be ordered on-line. If you followed the cleaning instructions it should be good for another round of staining.

Answer:
Contact the manufacturer but most likely this would not be covered under the warranty. You could try to return it to the store where you bought it and see if they might take it back.

Answer:
Without knowing if this is a new unit or an older one that has been used before it'll be a bit difficult to problem solve this way. However if it is a new unit you just received, if you possibly assembled it with the valve in the closed position than the unit would not work correctly. Please call Wagner Technical Service for help at 1-800-760-3844, we'll need more information to be able to help you out further.
