The 705 Steamer is a safe, chemical-free method to remove wallpaper. The steamer removes all types of wallpaper, multiple layers of wallpaper and even wallpaper that has been painted-over. This worked great for about two days then it stopped working it would heat the water then shut itself off I tried a day later and the same thing. It was great when it was working I wish it would work or last longer

This steamer works great! I bought a model home that was full of wallpaper and have used this steamer to remove the wallpaper quickly and easily. I first tried using the chemical remover and it was awful! The fumes were terrible and it was so time consuming. When I use this steamer, I pull off the outside vinyl wallpaper, I fill this with water, wait for the water to heat up (to a boil) and lay it on my wall. You have to wait until the wallpaper gets wet then it will just pull off. No fumes or smell. Just be careful to keep the wallpaper steamer plate pointed away from your face because it does create very hot steam and set the hot water canister is a safe place where it will not tip over. The water is extremely hot and it will burn you. Be careful but Given the choice between hot water and steam or fumes from chemicals, I will take the steamer and it works great!

Product performed just as described. On the first wall, we had vinyl covered wallpaper and has used a tool to etch the paper. It left the surface so we needed repairs from the tiny scratches the tool made.
We decided to try the steamer with just water and found if we waited a few seconds longer, the wallpaper came off without benefit of the wallpaper tool.
We have used the steamer in three rooms of our home and even loaned it to a friend to use.
WE definitely recommend the Wagner 705 Steamer and plan to use/loan it for a long time.
